From dragons to griffons, this project explores the real-world roots and cultural theories behind some of history’s most iconic mythical creatures.
The book is filled with detailed, full-color illustrations that capture not only their familiar features, but also the many ways these beings have been imagined across different times and cultures.
As both illustrator and researcher, I traced their evolution from ancient folklore to modern fantasy, highlighting the space where history and imagination meet.
Created for anyone interested in mythology, history, or art, the work offers a visual and narrative journey into the world of legendary beasts.
Though not formally published, the project became an important exercise in combining research with illustration. It strengthened my skills in digital painting (Clip Studio Paint, Photoshop) and layout design (InDesign), while teaching me how to turn complex cultural research into accessible visual storytelling. It continues to shape my approach to myth-inspired artwork and remains a key piece in my portfolio for showing both process and versatility.
